Beginner’s Courses

If you fancy trying your hand with a bow and arrow, sign up to our beginner’s course. We provide all the equipment you need to learn, so there’s no need to buy anything beforehand. Our highly experienced coaches will take you through all that you need to know to shoot safely, as well as accurately.

Hampstead Bowmen runs several Beginner’s Courses throughout the year. They require six Saturday morning sessions (which last 2 hours) to be fully attended. At the end of the course you will have become a Novice Archer and will be eligible for Archery GB membership which will allow you to become a member of any club in the country.

Have-a-go session

£25

We run have-a-go sessions regularly throughout the year, each lasting 2 hours.

This is your chance to literallyhave a go with a bow and arrow, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience!

With just 12 participants per session, you'll have plenty of time to get to grips with shooting. Our experienced and friendly coaches will be there every step of the way to help you hit the gold!

Sessions are usually held on Saturday mornings at our welcoming club.

Important

Please see our Child protection policy: a Parent, Carer, Legal Guardian or Other Responsible Adult must be present at all times when your child attends any course or session.

Please note that the required minimum age is 10 years for our beginner’s courses, and 8 years for have-a-go sessions.

Terms & Conditions/Cancellations:

Please note we require 3 days' notice to amend a course booking.
All payments are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation or no show with less than 3 days' notice.
Any cancellations with more than 3 days' notice will incur a 2% + 20p charge on the full cost of the booking, which is what our booking system charges us.
We reserve the right to cancel a session or course at any time, if this occurs for any reason we will, of course, notify you and offer a full refund.
